Obscure Music Saturday

It's that time again, and after missing about a weeks worth of obscure music, it's time to choose another band/artist.  This weeks band is Arcade Fire.  Okay, they may or may not be super obscure, but they are definitely not mainstream.  However, they are good though.

Okay, so Arcade fire consist of a husband and wife duo, Win Butler and Regine Chassagne.  There are also approximately 6 other band member.  It's an amazing Band.  The band plays so many instruments:  guitar, piano, violin, bass, viola, drums, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin, and lastly the hurry-gurdy.  It is awesome.  The melody of sounds coming out of these instruments are amazing.  I still can't believe a band like his has so many instruments being played.  However they all do it, and all the instruments are taken on tour with them.

Now, as I sit here at a B&N typing this blog, I'm listening to, "Neighborhood 1," it's awesome.  I can't believe how good this is.  Just the fact is this.  Listening to something out of your comfort zone will get you into things you never realized was your type of music.  With that in mind, I wanna add a plug as well for one of my dear friend's band.  Ran Tan Toon.  They are a little different and they are mainly and instrumental band.  They are talented and unique.  And real artist like this deserve the plug.  So this is a first for Obscure Music Saturday, I'm doing two bands, and next week Ran Tan Toon will get their own dedicated blog.  So take a listen to both, and enjoy.
