T-Swizzle

So I don't usually do music reviews.  However my sister gave me a copy of the new Taylor Swift album, and well, I'm just going to give you my opinion on it.  Cause seriously, you can't just rate and review an artist without pissing someone off, cause we all have our own opinion of music.  So just a forewarning, this is just my review of this album.  If you don't like it, you don't like it, if you like it...well awesome, but seriously, you are your own best judge, so go out there and listen to that jib.

I came into listening to this album because, well lets face it, We are Never Ever Getting Back Together has been playing like crazy on the radio.  I don't know, I'm also some what infatuated with T-Swift and her bubblegum Country-Pop.  Yes she makes songs about her old boyfriend, yes its most of the time, yes she can be kinda petty, and yeah, it's probably most of the time not good.  Actually...dating Taylor might be a detriment to your dating life...I still go out with her I think.  Yeah, I would.

Okay anyway back to the album.  So there are a lot of songs on here that sound very similar, but there are a lot of songs that make me smile a bit.  22, and Stay, Stay, Stay are cute songs.  It's not the best album I've ever heard, heck it's not even her best album out of all the ones she has made...personally Fearless is my favorite of the 4 albums that she has made.  But like I said this album isn't so bad, it's okay.

Oh, an observation that I've made on this album, I'm beginning to think Taylor wants out of country so bad that she wants to go the hipster route.  You made not believe this, but the album to me has an indie feel, she even mentions about wearing her best hipster clothes, wearing plaid, and even talks about indie records being much cooler than hers.  Whether you believe it or not, that's what this album is turning into...heck that's what she's turning into I think.  However these are my own little observations, and well this album has remind me of that.  So with that...enjoy the album, and enjoy T-Swizzle's latest.  It's not bad, and it's not great, but still enjoyable for some country-indie-pop.

Hello Ms. Sandy

Hurricane Sandy, oh how I hate thee.  Well technically just cause of all the damage you have caused, you battered my AC, you battered my friends' shore houses, and you aren't the kindest of all things.  Especially since I had to run outside today in your wrath to get my stupid sump pump hose away from my house.  Anyway, it's crazy out, the WTC is flooded, and well...I have to head into work tomorrow by 10...not 11, not 12, however 10 a.m., and for what, all State Offices are closed, so I just don't get why we would have to go to work...even my old job is closed tomorrow...man this stinks.  That's life for you though...oh well.

I've been working on this BP of mine, and I'm getting to the last few months before the new year.  I'm very excited about that.  I'm almost beginning my next journey of my life.  So before all that begins, I want to slow down things just a little bit.  I want to have the best time I can with my friends, I want to do things that I won't be able to do when I'm busy.  Well, we'll find out.  A few more months, and more searching must be committed.  Let's go Wei.

Well...I hate the thought, but I gotta go to bed, and call it a night tonight.  Just wanted to say one thing, don't lose faith people, don't be discourage, live life to the fullest, live everyday like it's the last.  You gotta push to survive, you have to make it through, and it's only you that will decide that.

iPod Music

It has been exactly 6 weeks, 6 days, and 7 hours and 47 minutes to finish listening to all my songs on my iPod.  All 3,815 songs.  It took a very long time, a Boston trip, back and forth to Dave's in Rahway, many hours listening to it a work, approximately 6 hours each day at work.  It's finally over, finally.  Cause I've been dying to listen to some songs on repeat, I can't wait to start all over again tomorrow.  No skip Tuesday turned into a 2 month project, and what have I learned from this?  I listen to a shit ton of music that no one else probably would.  I like that.  With that in mind, I just purchased the Lumineers' vinyl, I'm pretty positive a majority of people out there heard the song, Ho Hey, it's a great album, and I don't know why, but I'm a big fan of the vinyl records.  LP is where is at.  I also purchased the Jamie Cullum album, The Pursuit.

Anyway, back to the music, so this iPod is over, and now as I continue back to the front, I love the eclectic nature of it.  The last handful of songs ranged from country - Deena Carter, rap - Kanye West, Rock - Rush, Progressive Rock - Dream Theater, pop - Katy Perry, Indie - Band of Horses...and more. Awesome good times.  It makes the work day go by, and I like listening to that instead of the monotonous sound of keyboards typing away and people complaining about work.  Cause seriously I can do that on my own.

The iPod brought back a lot of memories.  Especially those from middle school and high school.  I miss the early 90s rock/alternative/grunge period.  However I do like me my new stuff as well.  I can't believe how much hip hop and rap I have as well.  It's good times.  I don't really have a top ten of songs, there's just way too many.  But songs that I've been listening to a lot lately.

10. Lumineers - Ho Hey

9.  Taylor Swift - We are Never Ever Getting Back Together

8.  Beck - Where it's At

7.  Jay-Z and Kanye West - N*ggas In Paris

6.  The Airborne Toxic Event - Chagnging

5. Rush - Tom Sawyer

4. Kansas - Carry on my Wayword Son

3.  Garth Brooks - The Thunder Rolls

2. Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box

1. Kina Grannis - Gone

Love

First, before I go into this spiel about love, and my last few thoughts on it, I would like to speak about a little girl that was murdered for a ridiculous reason.  Little Autumn Pasquale...when a child can't ride her bike to go to a friend's house, we're having a situation with our society.  It shouldn't be allowed, it shouldn't be like this.  I've said this before, and I'll say it again, children from our age, and children now are completely different.  You're brothers...that killed a poor defenseless little girl.  People like you, well...you should be locked up till you have nothing left.  You're both sadistic little fucks, that will burn in hell hopefully and yeah, you might be not be getting tried as an adult, but life is going to suck for you both when you get out, you did one of the worse things, and that's murdering a little girl for bike parts.  Go to hell...I said it, and I don't give a shit.

Anyway on a happy note...well I guess not so happy.  I've lost that feeling for a very long time.  I've watched my friends get it.  I'm suppose to make a change this year, I guess this should be one.  Does true love even exist?  It does, it has too.  People come and go, but sometimes the one that don't make it leave a lasting impression.  I also watch too much WongFu Production stuff.  So this makes me think about these kinds of things.

I feel bad for my friends sometimes.  I hate to be their third wheel, this thought makes me sad.  This makes me want to get out of this state.  Kinda like I'm a hassle.  I know for a fact my friends will never say that, cause they're just plain old great.  However, that doesn't console me...I hate being that burden. I guess watching them do all the stuff that I use to think was great makes me think I'm missing something in my life.  Then me and my cousin were talking about things.  Why am I alone?  Why am I not with anyone?  To tell you the truth, I don't know Sammi.  I guess I'm kinda messing up.  I thought working, and starting my career was the most important thing ever.  I also thought love doesn't really exist anymore.

Man, I'm an idiot, they say you always have 3 great loves in life.  I like to say I've had one so far, and I'm totally going to regret saying this, because I know for a fact Dave is going to be furious with me.  However I wish I could tell those guys all the gritty detail that I've been through.  However, I never grew up that way.  So...yeah, I'm going to continue with no one knowing, and all of this will go to my grave.  Sorry fellas.  Yeah...wah wah right Wei?  Yup.

I guess moving to a new place will force me to look for someone new.  The fear of being alone in a new place is freaky enough.  It would also push me to want something more.  I guess it's what I really want this year.  What I really really want is change this year.  I'm looking for new scenery, and something I can call my own.  They did a survey and found most people that has hit the age of 28 has finally let their theory of youth go.  I feel like I can't keep acting like this...I guess it's time to grow up.  *sigh*

I guess watch the WongFu Production, and yes, Kina Grannis is going to continue looking gorgeous.  Whoever that actor is in this.  I wish I was him.  Cause...well she's simply amazing...legen...wait for it, and I hope you're not lactose intolerant cause the last word is...dary.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well...I'm finally 28 years young.  I'm officially through to my late 20s.  What have I learned?  Well first of all I've learned that my family is amazing.  They have been there for me before, and they will always be there for me.  Wasn't the first thing that I've learned, but I know for a fact that it is one of the most important things in life. Thanks Fam.  Second thing I've learned from my life.  I have the greatest friends on earth.  I know, you think you're friends are amazing, but I'm definitely feeling my friends are definitely way cooler.  Sorry that's mean.  Awful.  But they are...  Lastly, age is just a number, and I know I'm getting older, but things can only get better with age...like a great scotch.  That's just how that works.

So lets talk about my birthday celebration with my friends.  It was a great day for a foodie tour and you know what...each restaurant was amazing.  And my little foodie log that my friends gave me helped a ton.  So first place we headed to was Chelsea's Market.  It was delicious, and when i say delicious, the places that we hit.  Meatloaf sandwich, awesome breads, pistachio gelato, and the coup de grĂ¢ce a 2 pound lobster.  It was the sweetest and juiciest lobster I've had in a long time.  Seriously, it was great.  That's all we need.  However, it wasn't.

A Salt and Battery was next, the best fish and chips in America, and guess what.  It really is.  And being Zagat rated is a great sign.  We had the chips butty, the sole, and bangers.  Delicous, all of it, and the best part, it was served by an Englishman who had the same birthday as I.  It was neat.  However, this is for Dave and Jay.  So supposedly that english row is own entirely by the same owner of all the stores there, and guess what.  All the Englishmen, hired actors.  My bro laughed at me when I told him I thought it was the real deal.  I was wrong, or was I.  I just don't know.  But usually I trust Wei on these things, especially since he was the one that recommended it to me.

Next, Marlow and Sons.  This has to be one of the greatest restaurants on earth.  I'm glad we had gone and sat there and enjoyed one of the best brunches ever.  Duck hearts and scramble eggs.  A pork belly sandwich, that was just plain old amazing, with pan seared apples and a runny egg.  What is that I hear...amazing.  Oh, and yeah definitely try their oysters, another great meal.  And last but not least, how about that pork terrine.  I've had a few terrine in my time, but I don't remember ever having anyone fry it, cause yeah this was awesome.  My favorite restaurant of all time.  It was the greatest, I mean that.

Last and not least 32 degrees, a Korean style cafeteria restaurant.  It's Korean, nothing more can be said, everyone got a little something and we all shared.  It was a good time, amazing.  Thanks friends.

Well the rest of the evening was kinda hazy...kinda like the Moors of Scotland.

--------------------Scene Missing---------------------

The Ducky Tie Challenge.  So I finally caught the episode of HIMYM of the Ducky Tie, since this is what I received from my friends as a gift  I've decided to give myself a little challenge.  Every Friday I plan on pulling the Ducky Tie challenge, I will wear a suit every Friday, everywhere I go I will where that ducky tie.  It's happening, done and done.  I definitely have to do it.  Nay, I will do it.  "CHALLENGE...ACCEPTED!!"

This Time of Year

Well for me Saturday is the big day, supposedly a foodie tour and shooting guns.  I don't know how this is going to work out, and well there are a few places I want to hit, not too much.  I think I'm sold on 3 or 4 places.  So Dave if you're reading this here it is.

1. A Salt and Battery

Mainly known for their fish and chips, definitely want to hit up this joint.  Dn't worry guys, they have fried chunks of chicken...and get this battered sausage.  So we're all in good shape here, and hell, if you don't like that, let's try the fried candy bar.  Sounds yummy... located at 112 Greenwich Ave.  Let's definitely do this one.

2. Food Gallery 32

I know, I know, it's Korean...but the best part about this is that it's great for big groups like us.  And I saw Korean blood sausage, and well.  That looks extremely appetizing to me.  I say we check this place out.  It's different, and well familiar to some at the same time.  I think this is a place you guys might enjoy.  Located at 11 W. 32nd Street

3.  Chelsea Market

Seriously why wouldn't I want to come here.  Please take me here, another great place for big groups...and well it looks amazing.  I love to try different things here, why wouldn't I.  Besides, Steffie keeps talking about this place, and I need to visit here sooner or later.  Yay, Chelsea.

4.  Marlow & Sons

Been talking and wanting to go to this place for a long time.  It's located in Brooklyn.  81 BROADWAY WILLIAMSBURG BROOKLYN, NY 11249 to be exact.  I hate to do this, but we might need to contact Sarah for big groups/reservations.  If you guys don't want to do this.  That's cool. We can always do something else.  Shooting GunsNJ Firearms Academy is the best place I see so far, opened from 9-5, I would love to hit this place up before our foodie tour.  That would be cool to do.  Let me know if this sounds interesting enough, then we can hit this place first.  Wooo!!  Guns!!  Oh, it's in Jersey...soooo...yeah you know.

I don't know how to fix the highlighted portion, why doesn't this stupid blog offer a clear highlight...fail blogspot...fail.

3 in one Day?

Seriously am I writing a third blog?  Maybe, I'm actually all amped from this caffeine.  Stupid Americano.  Anyway, lately I've been having cravings of certain food, and slowly as my birthday heads near this food tour is becoming more and more enticing.  However, it's not just the foodie tour that I'm looking forward to.  I'm also getting pretty excited about getting my gun license and start shooting guns as well.  I'm slowly becoming a gun nut.  So here are my top 5 firearms that I'm looking to get in the near future for this zombie apocalypse.  I'm probably going to get pictures later when I'm out of Starbucks...I don't know.  Am I going to get put on the grid cause I like guns now?  I hope not.  I just want it for protection, and I have the right to bear arms correct?  Yeah, of course I do.  I'm most likely only going to get two though, so don't worry government, you still don't have to watch me.  I'm not starting a cult or anything, so everyone just chill.  Anyway, on to the list...

1. Glock 22

This is the handgun I'm looking to purchase.  Most likely my first purchase.  Running in the $500-$600 range, not too bad, however I will definitely be adding a tactical light and laser for an additional $250.  It's not a sure shot, and .40 is a pretty big bullet.  So I'm excited that this will be my first purchase, and a learning gun.

2. AR15

Definitely my second purchase...I've been advised this is a zombie stopper, and because the bullets are easy to get, this is the gun you want to have as well.  So this is a great buy I hear.  Definitely looking into this as my second purchase.  I hear the scope is more expensive than the gun, but definitely well worth it and a better shot compared to the iron sights.

3. Mossberg 500 Tactical Shotgun

They say the shotgun is not the best weapon against a horde of zombies, but I figure if I at least have this shotgun with other weapons then it should do the job.  I still feel safe if this was my last resort.  Cause what, a shotgun is better than no gun right?  And I'll definitely feel safe with the Mossberg 500 Persuader tactical gun.  BOOM!  HEADSHOT!

4.  FN PS90

Ahhh...the P90, yes it reminds me of Counter-Strike, it also reminds me that if I had enough money, this would be another great purchase.  Ammo is not the easiest to find, but the tactical use, and small recoil makes this a gun of choice for a zombie apocalypse...and seriously, why wouldn't you want one to shoot if you had to protect your family and friends?

5. Beretta 92fs

Only reason why I want one, they're pretty and I used this gun a ton in the Uncharted series.  It's the only reason, that's it folks...that is it.
