Sports Sports Sports

Now, there's a lot of things I can do tonight.  Do some work, make a few phone calls, write a blog or...watch sports all night.  I have three options tonight.  I have the Sixers, which as a child growing up, I watched a lot of basketball.  As an adult, don't watch as much anymore, but by golly, I'm still interested.  Choice number two.  Hockey.  I hated hockey as a kid growing, and I mean I couldn't stand it at all.  However, hockey is slowly but surely turning into one of my favorite sports to watch.  Man hockey is fun and awesome.  Last but not least...baseball.  Watching Roy at the moment, getting his groove back, and even though I know he's on Dave's team, I still rooting for Roy.  I want Roy to be the man, he deserves it.  Are we going to get the same Roy we had a few years ago?  I don't know, but I know that in his twilight years it's going to be quite interesting to see Roy do his thing with the off speeds.  "You're Doing it ROY!"

I'm sitting here now watching the Flyer's PP, come on fellas, let see that number one PP team now shall we.  Well it wasn't a power play, but let see Cooter get one shall we, damn right you will.  Man, I haven't turned the channel in a while, and I really want to watch the Phil's game...and here I go.

Ughh...up and down, not feeling good about tonight.  The weird thing is this, it has been a rough year to be a Philadelphia sports fan.  However, I'm praying the Phils will be our savior of the year.  Come on guys do your thing.  I guess after all these years, we've been spoiled pretty good.  So what now?  The dark ages are back?  Please for the the love of god...lets hope not.  Cause, it will be quite sad and disappointing.

Well unfortunately, this is another short one tonight.  I've a lot of work to do tomorrow, and I've got to get ready for beerfest, making a few peanut belts, and getting my options ready for the weekend.  I really looking forward to it.  I have a lot of things planned, not a lot I can say on here yet, but I'm working towards that next big step...yes, that next big thing.  Do work kids, do work.

So last year, my friends and family, and some random strangers helped me make close to 750 dollars in charity funds.  All of that has gone to LLS, and well I didn't think RTK was coming back, however...watch the video below.

RTK is back, and well I'm back in it this year.  I haven't started any training, and well I pretty much in no shape to run a 5K.  I sucked at running before, and pretty sure I'm back at doing not so good.  However if it's for Kina and a good cause, I don't mind making the best of it.  So here's to training, and here's to the next run.  And here's to earning money for Kina.  Probably one of my most favorite human on earth.  Love me some Kina.  WOOT!!

Meh...it is What it is

Soooo...a few days ago I wrote something on hipsters.  Namely the hipster chicks, and because of that my blog has blown up.  It really has become an infatuation hasn't it.  Yup it has, and now, my goal is to find a hipster chick and interview her.  I gotta hear her end, see the infatuation continues with them.  Come on Wednesday, Georgie is going to take me someplace special.  Times up, lets do this shit...

Anywhoo, this was a great weekend, I think my favorite part has to be the BBQ sampling this week.  And definitely voting for my favorites were awesome.  I'm a sucker for good BBQ, and some of these dishes were awesome.  We had one set of ribs that tasted very similar to my ribs.  This put a smile on my face, just knowing the simple fact that I can do something along the lines of these non-amateur cooks.  I can do this, I can become a great griller/chef/cook.  Whatever you want to call it, I can do it, I can put a combination of foods together.  I'm a foodie, and yeah, I love it.

Phillies status, not doing so good, however good win today.  I wish Cliff Lee can get a win.  However what are you going to do.  Fantasy is not going so swimmingly this year, but I'm still trying.  So we'll see what happens new year.  I feel like the Phillies this year, no matter how hard I try, the setbacks keep piling.  May have to call it in for this year, but still going to keep trying.  Still going to keep trying.

You know what's another infatuation of mine...cougars.  That's all I got.

Well, it's coming to that time, and well, I'm just plain old tired.  Night everyone, be good, and live life everyone.

This bloggie-ma-jig

So yeah, I've been missing on this thing right?  Hahaha, funny story.  George got me into this game, you may have heard of it, it's called Battle Field 3.  Anywhoo, I've been quite enamored with it, okay more addicted to it.  I'm trying to ween off of it, but it doesn't seem to be working.  However with that being the case.  I have been away for a while.  Things have been on my mind, and well, shoot, things have been happening.  As you may or may not know, the last big ticket thing was Ohio/Kentucky.  Great times.  So what else has been going on in my world?  Well...let's get into it.

First and foremost.  Happy Father's Day to all those dads out there.  Good for you guys out there being the best you can be.  Now, as you may or may not know.  I've been away for BF3 reasons, and well, I've also been training for 5K.  Here it is...today was the 5K.  Here's to you Mr. Gary Papa, lets fight prostate cancer.  Anyway, so I ran a 5k today...kinda.

Let me explain.  As I left my home this morning, well dressed in my running gear.  I had this deep nervous feeling, something about this thing I was finally going to accomplish this year.  Well.  I did it.  I finally did it...sorta.  Okay, so as I approached the tent for my 5k, I noticed that I didn't have a number.  I realized that I had to go look it up on the registration board.  So I did got my number and walked back.  What I didn't know was that I must have signed up for the walking part of the 5k...WHAT THE F*CK!!  I didn't want a non-timed walk.  I didn't sign up for a walk, I signed up for a run!  I asked the kind volunteer...I think there's a mistake, I think I should be running, and need one of those white number dealies?  She replies with, "Nope, you're 5385, you're walking."  Hmm...and the predicament begins.  I asked how can I get a runners registration since I want to run...only way...re-register.  Since no CCs are allowed, I'm shit out of luck.  I do my best hold my head proud...and attempt to run the walking path.  Getting my balls broken each and every step of the way.  *Sigh*  This is my life, sometimes it's just the world laughing at me...and all I can do is laugh at myself.  Cause if don't, well...I probably really cynical by now.  So in a nutshell...I kinda did a 5k...just not one that I was expecting.  Here's the thing, I'm promising myself another 5k.  I'm doing it this fall...and I'm going to run and complete it like said.  I'm pretty sure I ran a 32 minute 5k.  But this time...I want proof of it.  So let's get ready to do this jib again.

Just re-watched the Pacquiao vs. Bradley fight...not that I'm a huge boxing fanatic.  However I'm pretty sure this sport is rigged.  The guy completely dominated 10 of the 12 rounds, and from the statistics and all the punches he landed.  You an clearly see Pac-Man winning the damn thing.  It's a sad day for the sport.  Whether you watch or not, if the sport is rigged, I may as well continue to watch the WWF...yea, it's the WWF, not the WWE.  Hope Pacquiao fights him again, and this time definitely rips him apart.

So what else has been going on in Wei's world?  Not much, my brain has been on empty lately, I've been thinking about a few things.  Can't say yet.  However, I don't know.  I guess I feel kinda empty.  Something is missing in my life.  Don't know what it is.  But, I feel like I'm not making the most of it.  Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm not happy, it's just, I don't know.  It'll be fine...it has to be right?  Of course it does.  Of course it does.  Oh, and another thing...I suck at fantasy baseball this year...*sigh* not my year.  Pujols was a bad signing, no one is swinging, and my pitching is terrible.  Cliff Lee still hasn't gotten me a win, and everyone else is just getting by for me.  How can Fat Joe have a better record than Lee...sad sad day.

When I hear this song, this is how I think about the future.  I have no idea where I'm going, I don't know what's going to happen, however the people I love most will be with me forever.

Grind My Gears

Ello ello white America, assassinate my character...First things first, Happy New Year everyone!  So, as you may know today is Monday, and the first order of business is this...what grinds my gears.  So lets begin the process, and lets move in to the new year!!

So this weeks topic of annoyance to me is this, being a Philadelphia sports fan for the last 25 years I guess. Besides the one glimmer of joy in our city of sports.  The 2008 World Series, not much else has gone our way.  Disappointment after disappointment, however I should appreciate that one though.  Even though I do, I guess I would really like something else, once you get the taste, you just want more.  However lets take a real look at my disappointment.

Lets start with baseball, since 08' the Phillies have been awesome contenders, but year after year we have been falling short.  Makes me sad, and this year was the cream of the crop.  After acquiring Cliff Lee and winning 102 games, getting knocked out in the first round in a 5 game series against the St. Louis Cardinals is extremely disappointing, especially when we were expected to win the entire thing.  After all pitching win games right?  Ugh...disappointment.

Next, basketball.  Yeah, the Sixers, since they've lost Iverson the first time, and losing the championship series back in the 2000-2001 season to the Lakers.  Well things have pretty much halted for the Sixers, getting back to that "Iverson," era is going to take some time, however the Sixers are capable of doing it.  However how disappointing is it going to be for us Philadelphians to watch another year of the Sixers losing.  Probably not that much since no one is watching at the moment, but for some of us that are still trying to root for them, it's a little disheartening still.

Okay, how about the Philadelphia Eagles?  They're great right?  They're so great we can make it through anything right...well nope.  After a season where we are suppose to be the "Dream Team," we go through the season 8-8, and not making the playoffs.  On top of all that, we knew last week that we weren't going to be in.  It seems like the Eagles are complacent with being mediocre.  Us as fans...we don't feel that way at all.  However we don't run the team, however change is needed.

Lastly, the Philadelphia Flyers, after today's debacle of a game, between the refs, and all the lazy game playing it's just a little disappointing is all.  I understand that it's just a regular game, and technically there isn't really much to worry about, however it's really like this to me, after all the hype of this game being setup, and after what is suppose to be a win for us, once again it's a loss.

So here it is, it's disappointing sometimes to be a Philadelphia sports fan.  I understand that that's just the way it goes, however it's disheartening.  That is all really.  So this is where I'm going with it.  Sometimes being a sports fan, you gotta go with the good and the bad.  And yes being a Philadelphian sports fan hurts at times...but I gotta believe that there are good days ahead of us.  Come on Sixer/Flyers/Phillies/Eagles...make it happen, make it a 4 sports team town.  Make us blue collar fans have a reason to continue in believing in you.  And you know what, we expect change, and not just being complacent with mediocrity.

AMSTERDAM!!

Well I finally landed after an 8 hour flight...wow people are so bloody nice here.  I'm already in love.  I'm just waiting at a Burger King in the airport.  Waiting for Jason to get here.  So let's get the bad news over with.  Phils lose, and we lose Steve Jobs, has that much happened in 8 hours?  I'm actually really really disappointed, however we still have one more game, so I don't want to call the Phils out yet.

Anyway back to Amsterdam, people are amazing here.  I honestly hope I find a job here now.  I don't think I want to go back, and I've only been here for a half hour now.  Well, I don't know how this is going to work, but in America time it is 2:50 a.m.  I haven't gotten any sleep yet, however, I am just so amped, I don't think I even want to go to sleep.  I hope Jay is up for hitting the ground running.  I just want to go everywhere.  I'm so excited, I honestly can't contain myself.  However, I can go for some coffee.  That sounds really good right now.

It's weird, never in my wildest dreams would I ever imagine myself in a different country by myself.  I feel so free, and honestly, if I may.  If you ever get the opportunity to just travel to a far away country, do it.  It's so worth it, everything about it is insane.  I'm just so excited, I honestly don't know what to blog about.  It's a little dreary out, however it's still epic.

On the flight, I met two lovely people, they were oh so kind.  We just shot the shit, and talked about the whole Amsterdam experience.  You know for a couple of retired people, they sure talked about marijuana a lot.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.  I found it quite fascinating.  I pray when I'm Carol and Stephen's age, I'm just as energetic as that.  That's the way to live, traveling all over the world when you're retired.  Pretty much buckets.  However, Carol did have a fear of flying, and since we had such a bumpy landing, all I could do was comfort her a say, it's cool Carol, we're just touching down, and it is raining out.  Really nice people, I can't wait to meet more.  Oh, I did speak to someone in Italian already as well...that was pretty cool.  My Italian is awful now too, but she understood the gist of what I was saying.  I wish I could have said the same with my French, oof fah.  I just looked at the lady and said, umm..."Je ne parles pas francais."  And that was the extent of my french.  I love it.

So as I sit here drinking my Starbuck's latte, o la la, I just realized this, I can't check into my hotel until 2 p.m.  Oh boy, 5 hours.  Good times.  Stay posted everyone, I'll have more later on today.  Till then, saving my batteries, and going to start taking a ton of pics.  Yay!!

So as my mind is still wandering a million times over, and I don't have any sleep in me, I'm just going to post a song as well.  Of course a dedication to the Phillies for a game 5 win.  GO PHILS!!

Be groovy everyone, miss you all.

Hunt for Red October...

It's Phillies post-season folks.  What can I say, it's a wonderful time for us Phillies phans.  See what I did there.  So here we go, after coming home from a long day of car hunting.  I was able to come home and enjoy what was left of the game.  Now don't get me wrong, while searching for a vehicle, checking the phone constantly is not something that should be done when negotiating.  Yes that's right, not good...the salesman becomes more friendly, the mood is right, and we begin talking about sports.  Boo me, did a bad job negotiating today.  Anyway, me yelling at the parking lot is awful since we went down 3-0 very quickly.  Boy that was just bad, however give us a roaring 6th inning, with Howard's bat coming to life, and we are back in this bad boy...two batters later, Raul blasts one out as well...and the lead is our.  See what's nice about watching the Phillies for the last few years, we never count them out, and with our Aces running on all cylinders, and Halladay getting his composure up and running, winning was not out of the question.  So yes, good win tonight...quite wonderful really.  However, what I missed most, I wished I could have watched the game with a few beers, my Phil's gear, my extremely bad for you snacks, and of course most importantly of all, my oh so important Phillies loving friends.  Oh how I miss them.  I really miss them, they are extremely important to me.  I hope I am home to enjoy the rest of the playoffs with them.

Well nothing super exciting tonight, just watching television, and thinking I'm getting better.  But honestly, am I?  I don't know.  That's life for you.

Sometimes it still hurts. You know how it is man. It's like, you wake up every day and it hurts a little bit less, and then you wake up one day and it doesn't hurt at all. And the funny thing is, is that, this is kinda weird, but it's like, it's like you almost miss that pain. - Swingers
Enjoy the Saturday evening everybody, and enjoy the song below...been stuck in my head lately...the band is He is We.
