Well Well Well

You know, in this road we call life, I'm a firm believer that ever man has to try everything once.  Not that it is bad if you don't', but I think you would live a more exciting life.  Example?  How about having your first alcoholic beverage?  Or how about the first time you learned to drive a car?  It's amazing how many of us take these moments for granted.  However, I think a majority of us remembers it.

To me the there are just a few of them that are just plain inescapable.  I like to think getting your license and driving for the very first time is one of the biggest things in life.  That's the first time you can look out the window and say...today, I am an adult.  It's the first time when you roll down your windows, blast your music, and say to the world..."Yeah, I rock."  Whether it's in a minivan or a family sedan.  It's whatever man...it's whatever.  But the biggest feeling, the biggest rush...you're free, it spells freedom actually.  Ahh...I love that sweet tender ride for the first time.

What else do I remember having the first time of?  My very first legal drink.  I've had a many illegal drinks.  However it's the first legal one that I remember very clearly.  I've always been a scotch drinker, but my first legal one was the sweetest.  What a dope, I didn't even order correctly.  Scotch, Walker Red to be exact, on the rocks.  My have things changed, I can't even stomach Red Label by itself anymore, however mix it with some amaretto, and you have yourself a very tasty godfather.  Anyway, times have changed, and my drink of choice is still the same, scotch, double, neat.  Clean, delicious, and an easy way for me to get drunk.  Nice...

Last thing that shapes a person to who they are going to be, well, I guess it isn't the last thing, but to me it's a big thing.  I think my first concert experience is a big thing.  However, it's seeing your idol for the first time that makes it the biggest.  I've seen KG so many times now it has lost all meaning.  However, every time I see her perform, I still get chills.  The only reason why I wanted to learn how to play the guitar was because of her.  She moved me just so I can learn to play an instrument that I always thought I could never do.  I know I'm not the greatest guitar player ever, however, I know a thing or two about a thing or two on the old six string I have.  I guess I really can't thank anyone else but her.  Thanks KG, you may not know it, but your influence stretches long and far, and your music touches peoples' souls.  I lead a different life because of her concert, her music, and in general, herself.

The above video makes me proud.  I've have been training and raising funds for RTK for the better part of the last 3 months.  Training is getting more intense now, and fundraising is over, but RTK is still here.  I like to thank everyone that personally offered to my charity.  I myself earned a little over $700.  And the above is the total amount from all of us RTKers.  To me it's a great accomplishment, and I made and helped my idol's dream come true.  Thank you all for your generosity.  I truly appreciate it.

Fundraising

What has been going on lately?  Honestly, nothing too crazy on my end.  Living life, getting things prepared, attempting to get ready for a zombie apocalypse, making dinner, looking forward to buying samurai swords.  Zombie demolishing kits, and oh so much more.  No seriously, things have been getting pretty busy for me.  Between work and trying to train for this 5K, I've now officially added fundraising in the mix.  Yup that's right, crossing off one of the big things on my list in life.  Fundraising for a good cause.  Didn't think it be this year, however here we are right?  Crazy.

So lets begin this jib.  I've been doing this RTK thing now for about roughly a month.  However, I have not been doing any fundraising yet.  However, I began thinking I better start before the end of fundraising date.  Fundraising ends on April 26th of 2012.  My goal?  I just want to make at least $500 for Run Team Kina.  For some odd reason I thought it would be best.  I'm not trying to beg for money hear.  Just trying to get the awareness out for Leukemia and Lymphoma.  Honestly, I think it's a doable amount, so hopefully I will receive some donation.  If not, I'll try my best to make up the difference.  If not we'll see what happens I guess.  So that's the gist of it folks, just trying to make the best of fundraising, if you like to visit the site please see the below.  And if you can, please submit a donation, not only would I truly appreciated, but the people with leukemia and lymphoma would as well.  You never know what this future research can go to, and you never know who it may help.  Check out the website: http://los.runteamkina.llsevent.org/wei

Okay, well besides all this fundraising thing, I just realized that I also went to an amazing concert on Monday as well.  I may have mentioned Eisley before, and well, I went to an Eisley concert on Monday. It was an amazing concert.  I can't stop thinking about how good those siblings are, they are pretty amazing really.  I can't help but like them.  Not only are they adorable, but they are extremely talented.  I mean, amazingly talented.  I want to put them on the same level as Kina, however I'm not.  I just can't Kina is the awesomest.  Maybe it's just because I have a thing for girls with guitars or bass or rather, girls that play instruments in general.  I'm a sucker for them.

Anyway, back to the concert.  It was amazing, playing songs from all three of their LPs and then playing songs on their new EP.  It was good.  I love how they cleaned up on all of their albums, I also liked the fact that at the merch table I was able to pick up a copy of the "Valley," in vinyl format.  That really made my spectacular evening that much more special.  The more I hear and attend concerts, the more I want to play better.  I don't think I'm playing well enough, but everyone keeps telling me that I'm doing well.  I guess practicing helps a lot.

Hmm...let's see, not much else to say tonight.  It has been one long day, and I can't wait to get some sleep tonight, for now, evening y'all, and enjoy the Eisley video.  I like the second song better than Valley.  ^___^

#RTK

Okay, if you have been reading this blog for sometime now, you all know that I have been trying to run more often and erin for a 5k.  Well so far so good.  On Sunday, me and Dave went to Overbrook HS, and went for a little jog.  Now I'v been doing the treadmill run, so Sunday was a first time I was outside and running, and the first thing I've noticed is that, well how should I put this, I couldn't breathe.  The cold air restricted my breathing, and it kinda freaked me out...I thought that was what a heart attack like.  However, it wasn't so thank goodness to that.

Well I think the date has been set, 6/17/2012 will be 5K.  So far I have Mr. Dave signed up, and possible Jorge and Suze.  I also might have my sister in, and possibly WT and Tina.  So a pretty good group so far.  If you're wondering which run I'm doing.  It's the Gary Papa 5K.  I'm pretty excited about it.  It may not be on my bucket list, but I'll tell you what.  It's preparing me for the half marathon that I want to accomplish.  Man, I'm going to do Forrest Gump proud.

I've had this idea this year that I'm going to attempt this 5K run.  However, when me and Dave were running, Dave said something that has really intrigued me.  "Wei, why don't we create our own 5K charity event?"  And ever since then, I've been thinking about this a lot really.  How about creating the Run Team Kina 5K?  Create the event, get it sponsored, get the registration going, choose a day, choose a course, and choose the advertisement.  From all the reading I've done there are many companies that are willing to sponsor and event like this.  I would like to donate all the funds made to RTK.  So, I'm getting ideas out now, and I think I'm going to make a few calls tomorrow afternoon after work to see how I can get some sponsorships and fundraising accomplishments done.  I never fathomed this idea, however, it's going on my bucket list now.  Thanks Davie H.  I'll keep you posted buddy, and hopefully we can work on something like this together.

So as I sit here typing about my daily life, and my plans for it.  I have one last thing to say.  I'm in the market to buy a few more suits.  I don't know what it is about suits, and the affect it has on me, but I'll tell you this.  It's something that I love.  I feel good in my suits, from the the thread count, to the perfect shirt and tie combo that goes with it.  And how does it?  With the perfect pair of shoes of course.  God I love my suits.

Legen...wait for it...dary!
