Valentine's Day

Whether you think it's a hokey, pretentious, or just another Hallmark holiday.  If I can take a line from Kina, "I know some say this day is arbitrary," but it isn't.  You have to admit it, it's a big day.  I've always enjoyed this holiday.  Starting from when I was a kid, until now.  Just so many great things, candy, cards, flowers, all the good stuff.

So where do we begin, I say childhood/grade-school.  Remember the little boxes you would make to get all your Valentines day cards?  I know you do.  And then taking all your cards for everyone and passing them out.  Having those first grade crushes.  Awesome.  I think that's what makes me happiest most.  Just remembering all the little stuff.  Oh, and cute little pink cupcakes...epic.  

As time moved on and we got to high school.  It all kinda remained the same.  Instead you didn't get cards for everyone, and you definitely didn't just give out cards.  Between candy grams and buying flowers for girls, it all just got a lot more complicated.  However in a fun and cutesy way I guess.  Man I loved candy grams.  They were awesome, and oh so adorable.  

Finally living in the real world and being a grown adult what does Valentine's Day give us?  Well I'll never admit it, but it does give you agita ever once in a while.  Between the fact that you have to celebrate the day, and get and give that special someone in your life something, makes it kinda difficult.  However, like any real adult.  I don't think this day should define a relationship.  Instead, I'm going to agree with all the cliche talk that I have been seeing and hearing all day.  This is something you gotta do everyday.  If you love someone, don't just show it on this day.  Do it like you mean it, and show it everyday.  So for all you lovely couples out there enjoying this evening, remember it's not just today.  

Oh, and another thing.  Ladies, realize how much that guy cares about you.  Because technically, this is a holiday for you.  A guy could care less about this day, he doesn't expect anything at all.  And for all you women out there saying, "I don't expect anything."  We know it hurts a little if you don't get squat.  So please don't tell us that, when you don't mean it.  Enjoy your day ladies, and treat them well fellas.  Happy Valentine's day everybody.

The Bucket List

So like I explained in an earlier post, this Saturday I had began working on a bucket list.  Well it's technically not complete, however I did write enough to cover the basis.  So my plan tonight?  Well I kinda wanted to share with you all my dreams and aspiration in life.  I have/had a ton.  I wonder how bored I will make you all?  Probably a shit ton, however, enjoy.

BUCKET LIST

1. Restore Buick GN to stock form.  Look it up, that's what I want to fix.
2. Buy a retail space, and open up my sandwich shop
3. Make my first million dollar
4. Once I make it, my family and friends will make it.
5. Become a better chef
6. Travel to at least one country on all  continents.
7. Buy all 50 cars on my top 50 Car list.
8. Find the love of my life...I would write something else, but you know.  If you were there that evening, you know what I'm talking about.
9. Run a 1/2 marathon.
10. Play the guitar perfectly.
11. Learn to play the entire "Stairwells," album.
12. Get my gun license
13. Purchase my first gun before the zombie apocalypse.
14. Purchase a Patek Phillipe
15. Be able to fluently speak Italian, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese
16. Learn to swim
17. Buy a boat
18. Visit each state in the United States.
19. Make the words "Jazzy," and "That's the way he likes it," happen.
20. Write my memoirs
21. Hit a half court shot at a Sixer's half-court competition.
22. Franchise my sandwich shop.
23. Start a fire with no other apparatus besides two pieces of wood.
24. Win $10,000 at the casino.
25. Fly an airplane.
26. Plant a tree
27. Set a tire swing on said tree for my children/grandchildren
28. Build a treehouse
29. Learn to ice-skate
30. Make at least 5 Asian best friends.  Full, purebred Asians.  No mixes. (Yup, I said it, shocking...I know)
31. Make the best soufflé ever...perefectly
32. Get over my fear of spiders
33. Own season tickets to all four major sport teams in Philadelphia.
34. Ride in a hot air balloon
35. Watch all 4 major sport teams in Philadelphia win their respective championship
36. Learn to play golf
37. Score a hole-in-one.
38. Hit a homerun in Citizens Bank Park
39. Win a storage locker at auction
40. Guest write on Dave's blog
41. Be able to complete this list entirely.

Folks what I really want in life is to enjoy the finer things, and my family and my friends.  I want to be there for them.  Nay, I need to be there for them.  I want to make it.  I guess, I want it all.  I am a greedy S.O.B.  However I know it's going for a good cause.  

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, do something special for that special someone.  And remember, just like anything else in life, let it breath.  And just like fine wine, it will only get better with age.  ^___^
