Hello OHIO!!

Well well well...yesterday the trip had begun.  The road trip that is.  After a 11 hour drive from PA to OH, and epic meal challenge, and then finally ending with an awesome dinner, and an interesting evening.  Well lets just say the trip is turning out pretty awesome so far.

Okay, so let's talk about this road trip.  It began with me, Dave, and Jorge picking up our rental car for the weekend.  Oh yeah, 2012 Hyundai Sonata, this car has pick up and steers like a go-kart.  Weird, but definitely fun to drive.  Next we get back to George's, stuff our car to brim with delicious beef jerky and snacks, as well as Mondos and other road tripping type foods.  Guys food...I don't know.  It's awesome, done.  After is all and set, I take the first leg of the trip, and start my drive out.  We're on our way to Cincy...let's do it.

I think the most interesting aspect of this entire trip is the Captain's Log that we have.  it's seriously amazing, the way we are handling this Captain's Log.  Basically Dave's idea was to write in it every hour and make a journal entry into it.  I loved the idea, and I haven't read everything or seen everything, however so far it looks and sounds amazing.  Oh yeah, and the car ride of the game, catching all the license plates of every state.  For the trip...we've gotten 36 so far...14 more to go.  George was wrong on the over/under 24.5.  The trucks really hurt George.  That's gambling for ya.

So lunch time rolls around, and at this point Dave is driving through West Va., and what do we see?  A Quaker Steak and Lube, the same Quaker Steak that Adam Richman has gone to and attempted the Atomic Wing challenge on Man vs. Food.  I know how Adam did it.  And well, I guess I wanted the same.  Lets set the story shall we.  Me and Dave both see it rather.  As we sat and waited contemplating on how hot these wings could actually be, Dave pushed the envelope and then I pushed the envelope, just egging each other on to get these damn things.  In the end we do the Atomic Wing challenge.  Oh, and by the way, it's no longer just the Atomic Wing challenge, it's the Triple Atomic Wing challenge.  Me and Dave aren't the smartest kids ever.

So these wings arrived, I looked down at them, and I realized..."Why are we so dumb?"  I asked for another side of blue cheese, due to the fact there was no way I was going to be able to do these stupid wings without them.  So she comes back out with the cheese, and her only words of advice, "Don't pussy foot around, do them quick."  If I learned anything from t.v., and I've learned everything from t.v., I was going to do these things quick just like Richman.  I lube up my first one, and the rest, well it was a blur.  I remember eating these 5 wings in about a minute and a half.  Yup, it was done and over with, that's when the pain came.  I could just feel my mouth entirely swelling and going numb, and tears were running down my eyes.  If you are going to ask me to tell you how these wings taste, well I could only think of one appropriate thing to say...It taste like burning.  Never in my life had I ever used that as not a joke, however, it seriously tasted like burning, and not the good burning.  So here we are.  After watching me house the wings, Dave was up, and just like true Dave and Wei fashion, Dave housed his wings in the same fashion, and finished them off very nicely.  Hi-fives all around, and the challenge was complete.  Thanks Dave for taking this step with me, we always do the crazy shit together.  Oh, and btw, the Texas Jorge's thought we were completely idiotic.  And as George fashion goes, he was right, we are.  Our tummies didn't feel right, and Dave's entire thought was this, crap...whatever happens to Wei, is going to happen to me in 3 minutes.

So after our food challenge, we were back on the road, and finishing the rest of the leg was Jorge into Cincy.  Nice, quiet, and honestly a delusional drive for me, stomach not good, listening to random music.  It was uhhh...yeah.  Sure good.  Muscled through, and got here in one piece, met up with George's awesome friend Tom, and had one of my favorite meals of the week so far.  Lamb shank, braised in it's on lamb au jus.  Delicious, and no other way to stop that but with good drinks and wine.  Nice.

The rest of the night gets hazy as I kept drinking, however, I know we had a blast, going to bed at 3:30 a.m., well not the greatest or smartest thing, however, I got my 7 hours of sleep, and ready to do this Maifest that George keeps talking about, let the vacation continue!!!!  Wooo, CINCY!!! Wooo, MAIFEST!!!
